27th May 2016 - Bangor Students’ Union has chosen to work with Membership Solutions Ltd on the provision of a range of digital resources needed to support their student members across all their engagement activities, including elections, volunteering and student advice services.

Membership Solutions Ltd (MSL) is delighted to announce that it has been selected by Bangor Students’ Union (Bangor SU) to supply its membership management system together with the Elections, Volunteering and Student Case Management modules. The MSL System® will support Bangor SU’s community of over 11,000 students who are grouped into five colleges, its 55 sports clubs and 127 societies with all their engagement needs. Dual language websites will ensure as many students as possible are positively welcomed in their Students’ Union.

Bangor SU is run by its team of sabbatical officers and 16 members of staff. It has been pivotal in helping the University achieve a top 10 spot in the National Student Survey (NSS) and the top spot in Wales for student satisfaction. The SU takes its community participation very seriously and offers student members on average 750 volunteering opportunities a year, valuable extra-curricular activity that will managed and promoted by the MSL Volunteering module. In addition, the MSL Elections and Student Case Manager modules will help Bangor SU achieve its overall mission to enrich and enhance the student experience of Bangor University students.

Dylan Williams, Union Director at Bangor Students’ Union, explains their decision: “We were very impressed with MSL from the start and with the Welsh language being so strong at Bangor it was imperative that we signed up with a trusted and proven supplier who could provide the bilingual platform that we so desperately need. We’re looking forward to giving our students complete opportunities for digital engagement and seeing how far our groups can expand and develop with the help of MSL.”

Colin Watson, CEO at Membership Solutions Ltd, commented “MSL is delighted to have been chosen to work with Bangor Students’ Union, a very welcome addition to our growing community of Welsh university unions. Bangor is a vibrant union whose members particularly enjoy sporting activities as well as their studies; the MSL System will be invaluable in ensuring as many people as possible can participate in new experiences and our remit to deploy a dual language website further demonstrates our commitment to supporting a fully inclusive students’ union.”
