University College Birmingham Guild to use MSL System® to support expanding student services

May 2019 - University College Birmingham Guild of Students will underpin its growing service provision for student members with the MSL System®. The new membership management system will provide the Guild with a new website, student groups resources, integrated online elections and the StudentLink® app.

Membership Solutions Ltd (MSL) is pleased to announce that University College Birmingham Guild of Students (UCB Guild) has selected the MSL System as its new digital membership management platform. The Guild is to replace its current website with MSL’s solution which will incorporate a new website, student group resources including Student Group Finances, elections, StudentLink app, ecommerce facilities, events and ticketing.

University College Birmingham was granted university status in 2012 and, since then, its Guild of Students has expanded its offering to provide more services to students. Operating from three facilities across the UCB campus in the Jewellery Quarter, the Guild runs a shop and activities centre in addition to the main office from where its representation, welfare, student groups and activities services are provided. The Guild’s executive officers and staff have been tasked with further increasing engagement opportunities and the MSL System will play a pivotal role in the delivery of these new opportunities.

We’re hugely excited to be implementing the MSL System here at UCB Guild of Students. From enabling our student leaders to grow and develop their societies, to communicating to our whole student body about the great work our officers are doing on their behalf, we’re certain that our new website will bring about a sea change when it comes to our student engagement.

CASE STUDY: Heriot-Watt Student Union increases participation at Freshers Fair

October 2019 - For the 2019-20 academic year, Heriot-Watt Student Union chose to run Freshers Fair completely within their MSL System, digitising the joining process and providing a seamless experience for societies and new members. With 58 societies welcoming 664 students to the Fair, nearly 3000 new memberships were generated in total through the Fair and the Freshers web pages.
