9th March 2015 - Membership Solutions Ltd (MSL) is delighted to announce that it has been chosen to provide the online Elections facility for Edinburgh College Students’ Association’s (ECSA) Sabbatical Officers election starting next week. ECSA was impressed with MSL’s rapid implementation processes and the flexibility offered by their Elections module’s voting options, monitoring and reporting functions.

Edinburgh College is one of the largest FE colleges in the UK with around 26,000 student enrolments across its four campuses in Edinburgh and the Lothians. ECSA has chosen to use an online elections facility for the first time to improve voter engagement and turnout numbers.

The MSL Elections module provides a secure, robust and flexible voting system suitable for elections, polling and referenda, conforming to the Electoral Reform Society’s ‘ERS97’ Single Transferable Vote guidelines and with NUS guidance on fair representation. The solution, which can be taken as a standalone pay-as-you-go facility or as part of the complete MSL membership management platform, can also accommodate different voting systems including First Past The Post and Scottish Single Transferable Vote and provides a real-time voting stats dashboard.

MSL Chief Executive, Colin Watson, commented “We are very pleased to welcome Edinburgh College Students’ Association to the MSL community and look forward to working with them during this exciting time as they launch their first online election. MSL is well established in the HE students’ union sector but the addition of Edinburgh College to our client base demonstrates that our solutions are equally as valuable in the FE sector.”
