7th July 2017 - The University of Chester’s volunteering service has chosen MSL’s Volunteering and Employability System  to support its drive to encourage more students to develop their career skills, improve their CV and to give something back to their community through volunteering.

Membership Solutions Ltd (MSL) is delighted to announce that the University of Chester’s volunteering service has selected the MSL Volunteering & Employability System to support its student employability and community engagement objectives over the next three years.

The MSL Volunteering & Employability System is a standalone software solution used by over 50 higher education students’ organisations in the UK to support their volunteering programmes. It can also be used in conjunction with the core MSL membership management system to provide a holistic platform for driving student engagement.

The University of Chester has seven sites across Chester, Warrington and Shrewsbury where 1,800 staff and nearly 20,000 students live, work and study. The volunteering service offers volunteering opportunities with schools and young people, environment and conservation as well as at the university itself amongst others.  The new volunteering system provided by MSL will allow them to work with even more opportunity providers to open up a wider range of activities and so encourage greater participation and preparation for life beyond university.

Dr Sean Dunkin, Director of Student Futures, commented: “We are looking forward to working with MSL to establish a new online platform for students to locate volunteer opportunities and develop their employability skills, utilising the MSL Volunteering module. This is an extremely exciting development which will further enhance the experience of student volunteers and encourage further students to get involved in volunteering in the community.”
