Privacy statement

As part of MSL Ltd’s commitment to client care, we take care to protect the privacy of our clients’ members.
MSL is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 with registration number PZ1573054.

How do we collect information?

We have access to our clients’ data as we provide the system that our client uses. When you signed up to become a member of your Union and were provided with a Union email address, you would have given some personal data. Subsequently, when you joined sports clubs and societies, the system would have logged your membership and activity details. This data is therefore similar to that your Student Union will have; for example, name, address, course, year, clubs & societies etc.

How do we use this information?

We only use this information to provide both you and your Union with the services, products or information you have requested, for administration purposes. We do not share or sell your information to any third parties.

How do we protect personal information?

We use a secure server when your Student Union’s data is held. We also take appropriate measures to ensure that the information disclosed to us is kept secure, accurate and up to date and kept only for so long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used. We do not transfer any data outside of the UK.

However, we may need to disclose your information to lawful authorities if required to do so by law.

Your consent

By signing up for system access and providing us with your personal data, you are consenting to the collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the above purposes and this privacy statement.

Right of access

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, which is called a ‘subject access request’, for which we charge a fixed statutory fee of £10.

Applying for information about you

You can write to us at any time to obtain details of the personal information we may hold about you. Only postal requests are accepted. We will not accept any requests for information about other people.
