Question text Your poll question (250 character limit).
Polling dates The date range you want the poll to be visible on your page.
Display to members only By default the poll will be visible to logged-in users only. Check this box to restrict access further to members only.
Visible to public This allows the poll to be viewed by anyone looking at the page. They will still need to log in to be able to vote.

Click 'update'. The answer input section will appear at the bottom of the screen.

Add the answers you want available to users, one at a time. Type the answer text as you want it to appear, assign a colour to it using the colour picker, and click 'add answer'.

Once you have built up a list of answers, you can order them using the up / down arrows in the answer table:

(Note that once voting has started, the answers are locked and no editing is possible).

Return to the main poll admin screen by clicking on the 'poll list' link underneath the title. Your poll should now be listed in the polls table. Make a note of the ID number that has been given to your poll as you will need this when you create your poll widget.

Add the poll to your page

To add a poll to your page, you need to create and add a poll widget. When you are in page edit mode, click on the widgets tab and select 'poll'. You will need to add the ID that you noted down in the Poll ID field. Once you've saved the widget, add it to your page via the widgets dropdown in the WYSIWYG editor.

For detailed instructions on how to create and add widgets to a page see the Widgets - Quickstart guide.

What the user sees

When the user views your page (providing they have permission to view the poll) they will see your poll displayed as a question and a list of radio button answers.

Once they have submitted their answer, a pie chart is shown of how everyone else has voted so far, and how many people have responded. Each logged-in user will only be able to vote once in the poll.
