Events Admin Update
 

Next week will see the launch of the first of two events updates which some Unions are kindly testing for us. As well as adding many new features the biggest change is that we have moved all the functions of the Events Admin application into the SU website. For a full list of features in the first update please see our next release notes.

Imminent Features
 

As well as the events features we are about to release the new version of the WYSIWYG editor, tabbed search results and our email templating and tracking features. You can have a play with the editor in advance at http://ckeditor.com/demo.

Remember you can view everything that has been released and is being worked on at http://www.ukmsl.com/support/development/ If you have any questions about these features please email helpdesk.

Training
 

Please have a look at our summer training list on our website. We have made Get-togethers (where we talk about improvements to an individual module) free of charge to attend and lowered the price of our training sessions in the hope that more people will attend. In particular we would like to draw your attention to our Events, Ticketing and Door Entry Training on 31st August where we will be demonstrating all the new features we have writtten this summer.

If you login to the homepage of www.ukmsl.com we have a mini survey that we would appreciate if you could fill in. It is to ask you important dates over Freshers such as your Freshers' Fair so we can plan our support accordingly.

Website Admin Get-together
Thanks to all who attended our Website Admin get together. It was great to get your ideas and also to hear that you are happy to work together to share code and ideas. We will be implementing the changes to www.ukmsl.com shortly to allow you to be able to do this. We appreciate there were a lot of people who wanted to come who couldn't so we will be advertising the next one soon as well as showing the outcomes of the first meeting.

We have recruited a Customer Services Co-ordinator. Adam will be starting properly in mid-September just in time for the start of the academic year.

Shopow
 

We have been approached by www.shopow.com who make a social shopping website and also have a plugin for SU websites where the SU gets a commission on sales. There is an example live at www.leedsmetsu.co.uk/eat-drink-play/shop. If you have any questions get in contact with jack@shopow.com and if there is a lot of interest we may look at ways to integrate.

UWESU's new site with a nice use of the NIVO slider. We like their subtle use of adwords too at the base of the page.

www.su.nottingham.ac.uk
Nice new skin for Notts Su which they designed and we built. Try the cool Clubs and Society search in the Find Your Interest box on the homepage.

www.exeterguild.org
Lovely work by Exeter SU on their new skin featuring a clever tool whereby if you just start typing it brings up the search box.
